With the strong support of the Rural Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the sixth Jinshan High-level Seminar on Food Physical Processing sponsored by Jiangsu University was held in our University on December 8, 2019. President Xiaohong Yan from Jiangsu University gave a welcome speech. Xiong Duan, the deputy director-general of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Jun Wang, the deputy director of the Rural Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, made important speeches. The forum invited nine famous experts from China Agricultural University, Jiangnan University, South China University of Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University, Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University, Academy of State Administration of Grain, and Jiangsu University to give 10 special reports. More than 70 experts and scholars from 20-some universities, institutes, and enterprises participated in the forum. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Haile Ma, the Dean of the Institute of Food Physical Processing.
Food Physical Processing is a research field with scientific connotation and development prospects, which can be considered an innovative product of the interaction of food science and physics. Since 2014, our university launched and hosted an annual conference to enhance the academic exchange in the field of food physical processing. The conference deeply discussed the basic theory, technological frontier, equipment development, industrial application, and other vital issues faced by food physical processing, which has an important impact at home and abroad. The year of 2019 is a key year to sum up the 13th Five-Year Plan and face the 14th Five-Year Plan. The task of the development trend of food physical processing in the 14th Five-Year Plan was fully discussed in the forum.
After the forum, we arranged the writing task of the research report on the Development Trend of Food Physical Processing Technology in the 14th Five-Year Plan. We hope that the report can play a crucial leading role in the development of food physical processing in the future.
