Prof. Haile Ma was elected as a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences

Prof. Haile Ma has been conducting long-term research works in the fields of food equipment and intelligent manufacturing, food physical processing, etc. He has systematically employed modern physical techniques such as ultrasound, light, electricity, magnetism, and mechanical forces for the preliminary processing of agricultural products and biological manufacturing of foodstuffs. Prof. Haile Ma has presided over more than 90 government-sponsored and corporate-commissioned research projects, including the National 863 Program in the 11th and 12th Five-Year Plans and the National Key R&D Program in the 13th Five-Year Plan. As the first completer, he won 5 first-class and 5 second-class science and technology awards at ministerial and provincial-level and an excellent award of China Patent. Prof. Haile Ma has published over 1030 papers, among them more than 510 SCI-indexed papers (latest h-index 55) and more than 120 EI-indexed papers. Prof. Haile Ma has developed more than 20 types of nutritional food products, such as propolis and functional peptides, and created more than 20 sets of ultrasonic, infrared, and magnetic field devices, which have produced significant economic and social benefits through the transformation of these achievements.

Prof. Haile Ma is currently the director of the institute of Food Physical Processing of Jiangsu University, the chief scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program, and the awardee of the Outstanding Contribution Award of the Chinese Society of Food Science and Technology. He served as the vice-chairman of the Asian Society of Agricultural Engineering from 2014 to 2021 and the chairman of the Food Equipment and Intelligent Manufacturing Brach of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology in 2021. Moreover, he has established six ministerial and provincial-level research platforms, including the Technology Integration base for Vegetable Dehydration Processing Ministry of Agriculture and Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory for Food Physical Processing.

The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RAEN) was founded in 1990 as one of Russia's three largest multi-industrial scientific institutions. Now, it has 24 academic departments and foreign academicians from 48 countries. All these achievements render RAEN as a scientific institution with top-grade international academic influence.
