Jiangsu TV Education Channel reported the scientific and technological innovation of catalytic infrared heating in our institution

Release date:2024-04-12 Views:10

Shortly after the end of this year's Two Sessions, Jiangsu TV Education Channel interviewed Professor Ma Haile on how to use higher education resources to support the formation and development of new quality productivity. On March 19, under the title of "Jiangsu University: Improving the Quality of Scientific Research and Empowering the Green Low-carbon Transformation and Upgrading", the research results of Professor Ma Haile's team in the long-term development of "the creation and application of gas catalytic infrared heating technology and equipment" were reported.

Gas-catalyzed infrared technology is a new type of heat energy conversion technology with the advantages of high efficiency, low carbon, clean, and energy saving. Professor Ma Haile led the team to develop the first gas-catalytic infrared emitter in China. After years of technical iteration, the core indicators have caught up with and are even better than advanced products in Europe and the United States, breaking import dependency through large-scale production. Professor Ma Haile led the drafting of the first industry standard of catalytic infrared equipment "JB/T 14374-2022 food machinery catalytic infrared heating equipment" in China. Besides, the latest working draft for the national light industry standard "Gas Catalytic Infrared Generator" and "Gas Catalytic Infrared Oven" will be released in 2024. The technology has been successfully applied to paint drying, leather curing, fiber drying, core curing, pressure-reducing valve heating, combustible waste gas treatment, and food processing. More than 180 sets of production lines and equipment have been established in more than 20 large and medium-sized enterprises, which can save energy consumption by 40%-90% while substantially improving the processing efficiency compared to conventional methods, leading to significant economic and social benefits.
